Abstract

The mustard green plant (Brassica juncea L.) is a type of vegetable that is very well known among consumers. Besides being used as a vegetable food ingredient, mustard greens can also be used to treat various diseases, making mustard greens a part of the vegetable group that plays an important role in meeting food and nutritional needs for the community, the nutritional content of mustard greens includes protein, fat, carbohydrates, Ca, P, Fe, vitamin A, vitamin B, and vitamin C. Insects are one of the animal groups with the largest number of species. Insects can play both beneficial and detrimental roles in ecosystems. Beneficial insects include predators and parasitoids that act as natural enemies of pests, detritivores as decomposers, and pollinators. Furthermore, some insects serve as a source of animal protein, have high commercial value, or are used for other purposes, such as fishing bait, honeybees, and weaver ants. Based on a questionnaire conducted with 10 farmers in the Landasan Ulin area, data was obtained regarding the number and types of insects found in green mustard cultivation areas. Of the total respondents, two farmers reported finding four types of insects each. The first farmer found Vespa wasps, dragonflies, ladybugs, and blue beetles, while the second farmer found four types of insects. The second farmer found a pest, dragonfly, grasshopper, stink bug, and ladybug. Meanwhile, six other farmers found 4 types of insects each.
